so most of you know my fav tv show this season.. and last season.. is dancing with the stars. i love it- the music, the costumes, and well Maks is pretty damn cute.
(photo via google images)
this season has been pretty random.. and tonight it was even more weird. i really don't know how they count the votes..
(via facebook.com)
the lowest scores were saved. the two best dancers were the last two standing. and one of my favs, audrina, went home. now, i know its not my fault, but i didn't vote last night, and im starting to think i could have saved them!! haha. i know, im crazy. and yes. i get that into the show.

im hoping kyle and lacey make it to the finals. i just adore lacey. she's too cute. bristol palin has potential. jennifer grey gets on my nerves. i do not like brandy (jusk Maks). Kurt is a little stiff, and as handsome Rick Fox is, he's not the best dancer. plus he makes some strange faces.

are you watching? who's your pick for the mirror ball trophy?

what a weekend.
as you all know from an earlier post, it was baylor homecoming! i was SO excited to get to waco on saturday! the weather was supposed to be bad, but i had high hopes!
we started off at the baylor alumni association picnic and grabbed some yummy (and free!) bbq before heading over to the georges tent. we met up with CLs friend from dell, and i got to see a lot of my friends from school. we met up with brittany and brandon (the newlyweds) and headed over to the game...
by the time we got there the game had already been delayed for lightning.. so we hung out and all of a sudden, DOWNPOUR! the weather in waco is known for being random but this was crazy. we were soaked. they were evacuating people out of the stadium into the concourse, and well it was FULL so we were stuck on the stairs walking up to get out. luckily we had raincoats, but of course, we were soaked from head to toe. they opened the weight room/gym at the stadium and we took shelter in there for about 45 mins with the band, and about 70 people.
the weather subsided, and the game carried on.. and what a great game it was! it was, by far, the best football game i've ever seen baylor play! CL and I were so into the game- yelling and cheering we barely even noticed that we were soaking wet and freezing!
Baylor went on and beat kansas state to become bowl eligible for the 1st time in 16 years!! we are also currently #1 in the big 12 south, and we are now ranked #25 in BCS standings!! SIC 'EM!
when the game ended everyone rushed the field- CL and I included! it was such a great experience and im such a happy bear!! i cant wait to see where our bowl game is, cause i will definitely be there! after the game CL and I grabbed some teriyaki park (still tastes as good as it did when i was in school!) and headed back to austin!
sunday my mom was in town after her SMU reunion in dallas and we all spent the day together.. we had lunch at gloria's at the domain.. and let me tell you. they have the best, strongest happy hour margaritas. my brother and i were useless the rest of the day after ONE!! for real. we shopped for the rest of the afternoon before we all crashed on the couch watching football. we were seriously all exhausted! what a weekend!
sic'em!

where did the weekend go? can someone find it?
i can't believe its monday already! this weekend flew by! it was jam packed with fun things to do, but i swear im blinking and its sunday night every weekend. ahh!
friday we laid low and cooked dinner at the house. who says you can't have gourmet in? saturday we slept in (which was good and bad) and headed to lake austin to board the river boat for my boss & her husband's baby shower! it was so much fun! the weather was perfect, there was beer & yummy mexican food, and delish cupcakes! best baby shower i've ever gone to!
after the shower we headed over to 6th street to meet up with some friends at CLs friend Kirkland's loft to watch football. watching SEC football with SEC fans is a little intense! they all went to south carolina, so if you saw the score, you know the outcome wasn't too fun. my baylor bears won and thats all that matters! we are 5-2, which is awesome, AND one more win makes us bowl eligible! sic 'em!!
on the way home we stopped at my friend and old colleague's housewarming party. her house was so cute! i can only imagine what i would do with all the space she has!
sunday we decided it was time to take the dogs on a hike. they are usually a little mis-behaven and we were a little hesitant to take them along, but i was pleasantly surprised. we took them to mt. bonnell (which is the shortest hike, ever) and they seemed to enjoy it. there were tons of people which they felt the need to meet, but they did really well. next weekend on to bigger and better (and longer) hikes!
baylor homecoming is this weekend and i am so excited! its always good to go back to campus and see everyone! i can't wait!

so for some time now i have battled with a few 'weighty' issues if you know what i mean. i was doing SO well. I mean, i even wore a bikini in public on more than one occasion this summer. Now? I don't even like looking at myself in the mirror. I can't blame anyone, or anything except myself. and i've got to get a grip on my health, fitness, well being, and my confidence. tomorrow is the day. no more excuses. no more putting it off. i've signed up for 2 5ks (Race for the Cure, and Warrior Dash) and I paid good, hard earned money for them and Im not going to waste it.
no one says its easy, but i know its worth it.

weekend re-cap.
this was one long weekend! on friday, CL and I headed out to Livingston for my friend Brittany's wedding! We had to be at the rehearsal at 6pm, so CL took the day off, and we leisurely drove out (its 3.5 hours!) to Livingston, checked into the hotel, and got to the church in plenty of time. The rehearsal lasted about an hour, then we all caravanned over to her grandparents house for the rehearsal dinner/reception.
It was beautiful. All candle lit tables, fresh air, good food, wine, and dancing. It was great to see some old friends, and make some new ones. We got up nice and early to get ready for the wedding the next day. Of course I ran late-- it always takes WAY longer to do my hair than I expect! We had lunch, got ready, then got Brittany married!
It was such a beautiful ceremony-- I started crying before she made it 1/2 way down the aisle. i know.i know. We stayed for cake and candy, then headed back to austin for round two.
it was ACL weekend and we had friends in town, staying with us. Lucky for us, they were nice enough to watch the dogs overnight so we didn't have to take them anywhere! We all met up over mexican food and margaritas, then headed back to our house to just hang out. I was exhaused and headed to bed... CL came up at 7:30am! Silly boys! Needless to say everyone was extremely sleepy on sunday!
sunday CL threw a brisket on the bbq, and we relaxed at home until everyone left ACL. it was so great to have our friends over, laugh, eat, catch up, and just have fun. i always love this weekend and this one was just as fun as i had imagined!
now, im off to conquer monday! ahh!
