Beckett's Baptism

Thursday, July 17, 2014

When my Mom mentioned that Beckett was getting a little big for our family's baptism gown, I thought there was no better time then the present to get him baptized!

It took a little while to find a Catholic Church that would baptize Beckett because we weren't married in the church and CL isn't Catholic. But after a lot of calls, Holy Family Catholic Church in San Jose was the winner!

Not only were they cool with all that, they were happy that we were choosing to baptize Beckett!
After a few classes, we were all set for the Sunday after Carmen & Jared's wedding.  (It was an action packed weekend!)

Luckily since my brother, who is the God father, couldn't be there, my Uncle Garry was able to step in for him!
His God Mother Veronica helping him get dressed. So sweet.
We were so flattered that my (newly engaged) cousin Veronica agreed to be his God mother, and could make the ceremony! (his sponsors are Veronica's fiance, Michael, and my bff Carmen)
It was quick and to the point! There was only one other baby being baptized that day, so it went really fast! Beckett was a trooper and looked absolutely darling in the baptism gown. The gown he wore was originally worn my my mom, then my aunt, uncle and all my cousins, so it was really special that he got to wear it as well. Gotta love family traditions!

Afterwards, since it was both Beckett's Baptism and my Mom's birthday, we headed to a late lunch in San Jose. It was great to catch up with my Uncle and Veronica!
Beckett loves his Momadear! He was so happy he got to spend her birthday with her!

With my bff's wedding just wrapped up (see the recap here!) and my cousin's wedding ramping up (their proposal photo below!), it's no surprise im back in wedding mode again! I could look at wedding sites, blogs, pinterest, etc. for hours again.
no, this isn't staged! isn't this the most gorgeous proposal?! can't wait until November!!
Planning our wedding (which you can read alllll about here!) was so much fun. With sites like Pinterest you can easily get lost in all the fun photos, which is why Lover.ly is such a great tool!
Lover.ly is a site (that I wish was around when I was planning! It launched Valentines Day of 2012 after all my planning was done) that personalizes your search to fit your dream wedding! It's a one stop shop for brides (and grooms!) to find wedding ideas, people to hire and things to buy.

Signing up is super easy.

You are then prompted to answer 5 simple questions...

My dream wedding dress features... (I answered strapless, sweetheart and ball gown)

I'd love to be married at... (I answered Ballroom and Private Estate)

I want my wedding to feel... (I answered Classic and Timeless)

My favorite wedding colors are... (I answered light pink, black and white)

I'm drawn to patterns and textures like.. (I answered stripes and lace)

Lover.ly then personalizes your feed full of inspiration photos that meet your criteria! You can save a photo to a bundle that you can create- like 'Flowers' or 'Dresses' or you can name your own! You can also 'Love' something that will save it to your Loves!
this is a screen shot of what I see when I log in! lots of pretties!
I was shocked how many images came up that were reminiscent of my actual wedding! It was like they knew!
You can even submit your real wedding (I did! maybe in the near future you'll see me on the site!)
The coolest thing (I mean, there are tons!) is that you can shop directly from the site! You can purchase shoes, jewelry, stationary.. you name it! You can even search by color!

I searched by 'Light Pink' and here are some of my results.. that Badgley Mischka gown?! I DIE.
There is also a really handy Planning tool.. from tips how to plan a wedding in 3 months to Wedding 101 where you can read up on all the latest and greatest wedding info like '10 Conversations to Have with Your Photographer' and '5 Things You Didn't Know About Mailing Your Wedding Invitations'

Lover.ly is seriously a one stop planning tool for your wedding! I wish I would have been able to take advantage of it! Instead, i'll just spend countless hours browsing all the beautiful inspiration photos and plan my next wedding (you know, my 10th, 20th and so on vow renewals have to be equally as fab as our original wedding!)

Check it out! I'm glad I did!

#jandc752014 Part 2

Monday, July 14, 2014

The wedding was the weekend of the 4th of July which also happens to be my birthday, so we got to spend my birthday and the rehearsal in the beautiful wine country!

We started the day off with breakfast and a candle just in case we didn't have time later before heading to Healdsburg/ Geyserville.
I was there early to assist with what ever wedding chores were left to do. I was tasked with the seating chart! It was such a cool way to let everyone know where they were sitting!
The rehearsal went off without a hitch and the ceremony setting was just beautiful! It was so great to see everyone! It was like a mini reunion!
SO adorable!
The rehearsal dinner was at the Shed and my bestie even got me a cupcake with a candle in it for my birthday!
We even got to see some fireworks on the way home!
The wedding day was the 5th and was such a beautiful day. Carmen did all the flowers herself.. yes, herself. Everything was just beautiful!

photos just don't do her justice. she was absolutely the most beautiful bride, she was literally beaming!
no, i did not wear flats for the ceremony, i know. i changed shoes too soon!
I wish you and Jared a lifetime of happiness!
