Carly Tells All..ish!

Friday, April 17, 2015

If you're anything like me, you're obsessed with all things Bachelor/ Bachelorette, so having a 'hometown' girl on last season was so fun! And who didn't love Carly?  She's originally from the DFW area and lives in Arlington, so I can technically call her a hometown girl, since you know TEXAS. Oh and by the way, did you know she is Zak's (from Desiree's Bachelorette Season) sister?! (Sidenote.. Zak is engaged to one of my ZTA sorority sisters from Baylor! Small world!)

In a Rut.

Monday, April 6, 2015

I'm alive, I swear. I've been neglecting this newly redesigned pretty little blog of mine, and that is not ok! Having a very active toddler now has consumed my life, but now that we are back on a 'regular' schedule,  I've got a lot of fun stuff planned.. including a 2 part series about Making a new house a home featuring Tiny Prints Home Decor and a Shutterfly iPhone 6 Case post! I just love the Shutterfly family of Brands! Plus, we finally got a desk, so I have a quiet place to write again!

In the mean time.. here's an adorable picture of Beckett to hold you over! Spring is in full bloom in Texas, and this past weekend we spent some time in the Hill Country and couldn't resist a few photos in the beautiful bluebonnets!
Isn't he just the cutest??

Beckett's 1 Year Portraits and Cake Smash

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

A couple weeks before Beckett's 1st Birthday, we hooked up with Kristen of Kristen Hafner Photography to get some 1 year shots of Beckett! It was so hard finding a photographer since we had grown to love Jessie back in California (She took Beckett's Newborn and 6 Month Photos!), so when we found Kristen we knew we were in great hands!

We started off with a few family photos and shots of Beckett before letting him get into his cake! We LOVE all the pics and had such a great time watching him taste cake and icing for the 1st time!
Kristen has 2 boys of her own, so she was SO great with Beckett. He was such a great little model! He had just started walking, so it was so cute to watch him explore his new independence!
And let me tell ya.. he was a little apprehensive at first, but this kiddo definately has his Momma's sweet tooth!
If you are in the DFW area, I highly recommend Kristen! You can visit her website HERE and like her on Facebook, too!

And in case anyone is wondering.. I made the cake banner and his hat for this photoshoot and the one for his birthday party!

New Years & The Cotton Bowl!

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye and before we knew it, it was New Years! Since Baylor was playing in the Cotton Bowl, my Mom, brother, and cousin Jad came up to spend a few days with us and to go to the game!

It was SO wonderful to have them come visit! It's always nice to have visitors! We crammed so much into the couple of days they were there! It was so fun, and I know Beckett loved spending so much quality time with his Momadear, Uncle Nic and Jad.
PROOF that they attempted to change a poopie diaper.. too bad it was just farts they smelled! haha
Jad is seriously wonderful with Beckett! It's the sweetest thing!
It was SO COLD while they were here, which was nice since extra bodies in this huge house help with body heat!

We even decided to check out Top Golf Allen. Now,  i'm terrible at golf, but ya'll. It was so fun! Everyone played and had a great time!
Now this takes talent.. swing, miss, and the ball still on the tee!
On New Years Eve, my mom and I took Beckett to see the Big XII Championship trophies in Frisco as part of the Toyota Trophy Tour. It was so cool to see them up close and personal. It got us all excited about the Cotton Bowl the next day!
We had a pretty laid back New Years Eve. I'm pretty sure we celebrated early, popped one bottle of bubbles, drank OUT of the bottle, and hit the hay before midnight since we had to be up and early for the game the next day.
How cute is my brother and his pups? Ladies, he's single.. just sayin'!
We woke up super early for the Cotton Bowl to freezing cold rain. I don't care what you say. When it's cold in Texas, it's COLD.

We headed to Arlington in our Green & Gold and got to experience Jerry's World for the 1st time. Now as a self proclaimed Texans fan it's kind of a sin to enter Cowboy's Stadium, but whatever. It's nice, but it's entirely too big (in my opinion).
We had awesome seats in the end zone on the top row, which was great because we had to get up with Beckett and there was room to walk right behind us.
We all had a great time, and it was so fun to let Beckett experience his first football game! He was such a trooper! He napped 2x and wore his ear protectors like a rockstar. Even though the Bears didn't walk away with the W, we all had a great time!
It was the perfect way to bring in the New Year (Well WINNING the game would have been that much better!) with family and football! I hope you all had a great New Years and that your 2015 is full of all things great!
